Ok everyone heads up on this one- if we really want to stop horse slaughter from becoming a reality in the US, please read this. Then send your letters, share with your family, friends, websites, blogs etc. We have 10 days to get this done or the horse slaughter industry will have 15 months to build their brand and get a foothold back in our country. http://thepersianhorse.wordpress.com/2012/06/08/resumption-of-horse-slaughter-in-the-u-s-real-possibility-in-near-future-says-congressman-james-moran/ what you can do is down at the bottom of the blog. IMPORTANT FAX TO HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
:
Date:
Dear Committee Member,
Please SUPPORT THE MORAN AMENDMENT TO PROHIBIT USDA INSPECTIONS AT HORSE SLAUGHTER FACILITIES IN THE UNITED STATES.
We at the LinkedIn Group, Equus and many organizations around the United States are working on all the alternatives for keeping the Slaughter houses from reopening. From horse industry leaders, organizations, rescue groups, private funding, education, and most important putting the a halt to the “Over Breeders” through legislative support in the United States and in other foreign countries.
This majestic animal “The Horse” needs our protection from those who seek to profit from this needless killing. The horse has always served us well and have given their “trust” to us and our country throughout our history.
”The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man” Mahatma Gandhi
Again, your support of Congressman James Moran’s amendment is necessary for the protection of the Horse. All the groups mentioned above are working hard to solve the problems which “the greed of man has created” with the over population of horses.
The Horse Slaughter House Industry is counting on you to do nothing.
Thank you for your time in this matter.
