BREAKING NEWS! WILD HORSES AND BURROS COVERED BY MAJOR NETWORK MEDIA

Wild Horse Education (WHE) President, Laura Leigh, spent over 100 hours collecting video and working with NBC producer Michael Austin to create national coverage of the threat to America’s wild horses and burros. To see the in-depth coverage, watch the NBC Nightly News and the TODAY show and check out the web version on NBC.com! Laura Leigh opened up her extensive video, photo, and data library to NBC. Finally the stories we have captured over the last three years will get major media coverage. Leigh, who has witnessed more roundups than even any government personnel stated: “I am hopeful that we will see a truthful piece, and perhaps a more extensive piece in the future.”

You may recognize many of the stories that Wild Horse Education (WHE) has captured over the years: “Hope” the foal whose feet were run off by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) stampede at the Calico roundup, the baby “Chance” who never had a chance and died in holding, and many, many other horses documented by Leigh in her three year odyssey following the wild herds. Her journey with these heritage animals has led to many court cases, including the first Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Injunction in history won against BLM for improper conduct.

WATCH NBC April 4 beginning at 7:30 am on the TODAY show and as a feature on NBC Nightly News. Coverage includes an interview with singer/songwriter Carole King.
