Victoria McCullough, a horsewoman and head of Chesapeake Petroleum, was instrumental in making sure horse slaughter plants didn’t re-open here in the U.S. She has also been working tirelessly behind the scenes on other equine issues. While in a meeting with Vice President Biden, the subject turned to the Salt River wild horses. After discussing the issue with Victoria, Biden immediately picked up the phone and called President Obama, and 15 minutes later, the President made a call to order the “stay” on the roundup of the Salt River wild horses. Things rarely happen this fast in government.
We’d like to encourage this positive momentum, so we ask you to take a moment to call or email the White House to say thank you to both President Obama and Vice President Biden for their efforts on behalf of the Salt River wild horses. Also, politely let the White House know that you care about the plight of ALL of the wild horses and burros and ask the President to do everything he can to make sure these American icons are protected on public lands.
You can either call (202) 456-1111 or send an email HERE. Handwritten notes are rare and get even more attention. The address is: The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500
And, we’d like to thank Victoria McCullough for her continuing efforts on behalf of ALL horses and burros.
