National Day of the Horse

Posted by on December 13, 2020

Dedicated to protecting America’s wild mustangs.

Protecting wild horses is a bipartisan issue — an American issue — and we will stand strong and united as a community that celebrates, protects and cherishes our wild horse and burro population.

The American Wild Horse Campaign is preparing to work with the new Administration, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, and supporters across the political spectrum to ensure 2021 sees long overdue progress toward protection and humane management of wild horse and burro populations. We the People remain the last line of defense between America’s mustangs and the forces that want to destroy them. In the coming year, it’s going to take all of us — united — to wage and win the fight for the future of these cherished national icons.

PS — Fun fact, this day was designated as a day of remembrance and reverence for horses on November 18, 2004, by the United States Senate Resolution 452. The US Government recognizes the significance of horses in America, and we’re working to make sure it fulfills its word and protect wild horses and burros as true cultural icons of the American West.

“So spread the word everyone so wild horses and burros will be able to be seen in the wild by future generations and not just on TV,” — Denise Brown
